The Performing Arts Academy
September 2015 we will be officially launching our Performing Arts Academy
where students in the 6th form will have an opportunity to
participate in professional workshops led by Drama Practitioners, take part in
2 performances across the year, one being the National Theatre Connections
Project where students bring original writing to life and perform on a
professional stage in London.
students will have timetabled hours to study acting skills such as
Voice and Speech, Characterisation, Movement, Dance and sessions on Physical
Theatre, Devising, Working from a Script and Improvisation.
Academy is designed for students who wish to continue their Drama and
Performing Arts studies with the Drama Department but also for students who
have shown an aptitude and skill in Performing Arts in Key Stage 4 and may not
have selected as an academic qualification.
plan to invite prospective students to audition for a place in our Junior
Academy from September 2015 for intake September 2016. Students will select a specialism
in the arts from Dance, Drama and Music and will benefit from extra training
through workshops and master classes with outside practitioners.
